”Powered by SAP NetWeaver” certification adds value to the Mitrais Medical Suite to meet fast changing business requirements

Mitrais has completed a six month project to certify its use of SAP NetWeaver, the integrated technology platform and technical foundation for both SAP and non-SAP applications.

Certification in SAP NetWeaver will further strengthen the ability of the Mitrais Medical Suite of software (MMS) to interoperate with other applications and systems which serve hospitals, clinics and industrial medical facilities according to Ms Tarasanti Anindyapraba (Tara), director, strategic alliances for Mitrais medical systems.

SAP NetWeaver is part of SAP's goal to deliver an integrated, robust open and adaptable enterprise service-oriented architecture. It is built using open standards and industry de facto standards and can be extended with, and interoperate with, technologies such as Microsoft .NET, Sun Java EE, and IBM WebSphere.

Tara said integration of technology and business processes is driven by industry’s need to lower IT costs through enterprise architecture.

“This need is more pressing in medical information systems than it is in many other areas of industry and commerce.

“Re-certification proves yet again that MMS is more robust than ever and capable of meeting ongoing changes in technology and in business processes. This means added value for our customers,” she added.

Mitrais had completed certification in Java Enterprise Edition Advanced (JavaEE Adv) and Enterprise Portal Business Package (EP BP).

“Certification in JavaEE Adv demonstrates that the Mitrais Medical Suite can be run on top of an SAP NetWeaver application server and that it conforms to SAP’s deployment standards.

“The EP-BP certification shows how MMS can be accessed from SAP’s enterprise portal with support for a single sign-on and a common look and feel,” Ms Anindyapraba said.

Mitrais was first certified in SAP NetWeaver is 2006.

The Mitrais Medical Suite (MMS) provides applications which serve the spectrum of administrative, clinical, operational and business management requirements. They can be supplied separately or, as one, fully integrated system to meet the needs of hospitals and clinics. A hospital information system integrates all points of care in one or multiple hospitals. Similar, comprehensive functionality is also available in an application for clinics which do not cater for inpatients. Implemented standalone or as part of an entire system are applications for the management of patient billing, pharmacy and finance. MMS also includes applications to serve mining companies, processing plants and factories which provide health and medical services.
