Information systems strategies and standards are the focus of a presentation on e-health by senior Mitrais executives in Singapore next week.
The conference, organised by MedTech Dynamics, will be held on 31 July 2009.
Mitrais director of strategic alliances, Tarasanti Anindyapraba will cover the critical issue of systems integration, drawing on a technical background outlined by chief technical officer Ken McClellan.
Ken McClellan will cover the issue of ‘interoperability’, defining what it means, summarizing the state of emerging technical standards and outlining the strategies available to achieve interoperable systems.
The absence of automation to manage information flow among and between all areas of clinical/medical care is, arguably, a major contributor to escalating health care costs.
Although the figures differ in many regions, one common underlying factor is the need for shareable medical information across various health care institutions and organizations. For example, at the hospital processing level, having shareable medical records, enabling laboratory devices to pass orders and results back electronically to those records and being able to link to billing and finance systems promises enormous benefits – for institutions and patients alike.
Conceptually this is known as interoperability and it is a cornerstone of Mitrais’ approach in managing and delivering health information systems to increase the throughput, productivity and accuracy of such systems for the benefits of the institution and the patient.
The Singapore conference is aimed at senior decision makers including CIOs, IT managers and others in the e-health sector.
MedTech Dynamics says speakers are selected for their expertise, high standing and influence in e-Health. The conference topics are selected from global research to ensure relevance and currency.
