MMS–Polyclinic to support information needs of Australian funded Bali hospital

MMS–Polyclinic, one of the products in the  MMS-Suite, will be formally commissioned soon to support the operation of a new eye hospital in Bali, built in memory of Australian victims of the 2002 bombing.

MMS–Polyclinic will provide the spectrum of applications for patient and administration needs for  the Australia-Bali Memorial Eye Center (ABMEC) located in Denpasar. The Australian agency AUSAID funded ABMEC as part of the Bali memorial assistance measures which were announced by the Australian Government in 2003 to provide quality eye care for Indonesians affected by blindness. Most of these came from poor families and could not afford medication to save/regain their sight.

ABMEC provides all forms of ophthalmic treatment using funduscopy, refraction, biometry and YAG laser, as well having a sophisticated operating theatre.

The hospital is already operational and when MMS–Polyclinic is formally commissioned in May, there will be 25 users of the system.

They will be able to perform the following functions: patient registration, covering different types of patients, including government insurance patients; patient examination records including various kinds of eye diagnostic support treatment and support for surgery; patient prescriptions; and material replenishment to ensure availability of medicines and consumables.

As part of the implementation process Mitrais will run courses to train staff how to use the system. It will also provide first level support for the system

The system is a web application built on J2EE technology (Java 2 Enterprise Edition).

Mitrais CEO, David Magson said “aside from adding another prominent healthcare facility to our growing customer base this implementation also signifies our ongoing corporate commitment to be actively involved in projects which benefit society.”
