Mitrais has implemented its medical information system to support the operation of a new eye hospital in Bali, built in memory of Australian victims of the 2002 bombing.
The Mitrais Medical Suite (MMS) address the spectrum of applications for patient and administration needs for the Australia-Bali Memorial Eye Center (ABMEC), located in Denpasar.
ABMEC provides all forms of ophthalmic treatment using funduscopy, refraction, biometry and YAG laser, as well having a sophisticated operating theatre.
The Australian agency AUSAID funded ABMEC as part of the Bali memorial assistance measures which were announced by the Australian Government in 2003 to provide quality eye care for Indonesians affected by blindness. Most of these came from poor families and could not afford medication to save or regain their sight.
The Mitrais system, MMS Polyclinic, provides one integrated and comprehensive solution that manages the end-to-end patient care process. The functions provided include patient registration, outpatient management, operating procedures, eye diagnostic procedures, lab examinations, pharmacy management, cashier, material replenishment and a range of management reports.
Mitrais’ medical systems consultants and technical support team also provided a comprehensive implementation program which embraces intensive training, business simulation, go-live, and post go-live support to smooth the transition from written medical records to digital records.
MMS is a web application built on J2EE technology (Java 2 Enterprise Edition).
AUSAID representative at ABMEC, Peter Brophy, said ‘I am glad to deal with a reliable professional organization that delivers more than what was expected. Mitrais has also been very helpful by providing modifications tailored to ABMEC’s requirements.’
ABMEC is a member of the Indera Hospital group. Indera Hospital Director, Dr. Pande Nyoman Srijoni said she looked forward to the continuation of the relationship with Mitrais as the MMS system is also to be deployed at another Indera facility in Bali specializing in ear, nose and throat and dermatology.
Mitrais CEO, David Magson said “aside from adding another prominent healthcare facility to our growing customer base this implementation also signifies our ongoing corporate commitment to be actively involved in projects which benefit society.”
ABMEC is the first institution in Bali to install MMS which has already been implemented in hospitals and clinics including Freeport International SOS Tembagapura Hospital in Papua, Cinere Hospital in Jakarta and Exarro Hospital in South Africa.
